BioPharmGuy RevealedGreetings, visitors! My name is Adam Wilson and I am the eponymous BioPharmGuy. Often on the site I use the royal we, but this is a one-man show except for the logos. Web development, database improvement, page changes, articles, job search service, job aggregation, marketing - everything. This is my full-time occupation.I have a BSE in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Pharmaceutical Engineering both from the University of Michigan. I have the following professional experience: -Lab technician in a hospital immunology lab focusing on lymphoma, doing molecular biology work (4 publications) -Intern at Abbott Labs in downstream technical operations supporting Humira manufacturing -Process Development Engineer at Biopure, a now defunct biotechnology company in Cambridge, MA that produced polymerized bovine hemoglobin for oxygen-delivery -Investigator at the FDA Detroit District Office While in grad school, my job search was well regimented in that I created elaborate bookmark files and visited company career pages weekly. This worked so well that I wanted to give others the ability to do their search in a similar way. So in April of 2008, I launched the site with what was in hindsight a hilarious look. It has since become more than a hobby as spousal work considerations led me to relocate to a biotech backwater in the midwest. I am self-taught in everything website-related and learned on the fly, so as you can see I've come a long way. The site will never be flashy and cutting edge, but it doesn't need to be. It's for people who want to find jobs and as it turns out, people looking for lists of biotech companies also find it useful. I check all the links every month to ensure they are working and I read industry publications such as GenEngNews to find new companies to add to the database. My site is without question the best free online database for career pages in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. I laugh when people point to some of my older competitors as being good resources. Without naming names, I will say they were good in their time, but they are not updated very much, if at all. They have defunct companies littering their database and no one else links directly to career pages as simply and easily as BioPharmGuy. This is the place for job seekers. I hope you enjoy the site.
